In Hong Kong this year, we planned weddings and events all over town at the InterContinental, Four Seasons, Grand Hyatt, Island Shangri-La, the Repulse Bay and The Peninsula. Outside of Hong Kong, our weddings took us to a 1800 pax wedding in Guangzhou, an outdoor ceremony and banquet in Shenzhen, a traditional Catholic wedding in Macau, intimate weddings at the Bulgari Bali and a action-packed wedding at the Amanpuri in Phuket to name a few. We planned traditional Chinese weddings (of course!), Indian sangeets, learnt all about Russian wedding customs, Japanese rituals and Mexican celebrations.
We worked with a hip hop band from L.A, singing entertainers from Australia, Canto-pop stars, Russian ballroom dancers, not to mention some of the finest florists, photographers, videographers and production houses from around the world.
As always, there is never a dull moment at The Wedding Company! Our most challenging and finest moment this year? Having to move a 300 pax wedding ceremony and dinner from an outdoor location to a five star hotel across town in under 24 hours (and with only 4 hours set up time)..and when the hotel’s electricity suddenly short-circuited on the highest ranking Karmapa’s blessing at a recent ceremony, we held our cool.
2013 is our 10th anniversary (we can’t quite believe it ourselves!) and the year ahead already promises to be a great one with weddings on our books up through until September.
We have been privileged and honoured to work with some of the loveliest families in Asia. Thank you for entrusting such an important day in your lives to us and we wish you all a very happy 2013!
May the year ahead be the best yet!
Whilst browsing Spark Letterpress Love’s blog, we fell in love with their ‘Mint & Gold’ themed mood board. Its drop dead gorgeous, delicate and inspiring all at the same time and we simply had to share it here with you all! If you haven’t already heard of Spark Letterpress, they are producing some beautiful work and lucky us, we exclusively carry both their Spark Impress and Spark Wedding Love albums in Hong Kong. These talented folks can basically letterpress, laser cut and foil stamp pretty much anything and all done with love.
So happy to hear that iconic French patisserie, Ladurée, has finally opened an outlet in Hong Kong at Harbour City following the success of its pop-up store last year at Joyce. With its beautiful packaging and tempting macaroons, we will be making regular sojourns to the other side to satisfy our macaroon cravings!
