Like everyone else, we fell in love with Jason Wu when Michelle Obama wore one of his glamorous gowns at the Inauguration Ball in 2009. From the initial media frenzy and last year’s CFDA win, to the success of his eponymous line and a well-received TSE gig, the talented designer was quickly catapulted to sartorial stardom and suddenly seemed to be on everyone’s radar!
We at The Wedding Company were of course, thrilled when we learned that Jason Wu would be trying his hand at designing bridal attire. The capsule bridal collection, exclusive to our favourite online shop, Net-a-porter was finally unveiled a few weeks ago bringing the same beautiful craftsmanship and exquisite detailing to these bridal pieces, perfect for the modern city bride.
“I think that the modern bride is looking for more relaxed options. By designing bridal separates that can be worn after the wedding, you could say that I’m deconstructing the bridal genre as we know it.”– Jason Wu
Bridal separates? We love the idea of a chic après-wedding wardrobe!

Last fall brought on a plethora of weddings and amid the hustle and bustle of planning, we decided it was time to find ourselves a bigger office. As much as we had grown to love our cozy Wellington studio, boxes were literally brimming with party favours and invitations, and it was simply starting to feel more cramped than snug! Tucked in the buzzing district of Sheung Wan, our new space gives us the much-needed room for a growing team. There’s a long, continuous work table for our coordinators, an entire wall featuring black and white images of some of our favourite weddings.. we even have a separate working area just for invitations! To top things off, we get plenty of natural light in the mornings and a bevy of lunch options just steps away. It’s still a work in progress, but now that we’ve tidied things up a bit, here’s a sneak peek (or more of a photo reel!) of the beautiful office we now call home.

Valentine’s Day may have turned into a full-on clichéd ‘holiday’ with overpriced bouquets, tightly packed dinner tables of two and sappy greeting cards but since it is Valentine’s Day, it got us thinking about LOVE and how it’s expressed in all its beautiful and mysterious ways! Here are just a few that popped into our heads!
